Onsen Egg Promise Treasure Hunt

There is no doubt about it, if you read my most recent blog post, you know that Heartopia is the life simulation game that currently has my heart. At the time of writing this I have put in over 85 hours of gameplay... and you know what who is going to stop me from putting in 85 more, huh?!

If you have played this wonderful game for even an hour of time you will very quickly learn that the menus can be rather ummm... tricky. There are an infinite number of areas to click and explore and just as many events and quests to try and complete. My hope is that my blog posts can help you get up to speed quickly so that you know exactly what to expect, what you will get, and quickly decide if a singular Heartopia event is worth your time.

What is the event?

The Onsen Egg Promise Treasure Hunt is a limited time event that is available during the Winter Frost Season A large seasonal event that only appears during certain times of the year. in Heartopia! The Onsen Egg mini event runs for 16 days, with the intention of having players explore more of the Heartopia world by completing a scavanger hunt to locate and take pictures of hidden Onsen eggs in the Onsen Mountain area. During this event, you'll get a chance to:

Collect rewards
Explore the Onsen Mountain
Get familiar with the in-game photography mechanics

How to start the event?

Okay bestie, full transparency, I totally stumbled across this mini-event on accident and even after going through the in-game tutorial I was totally still confused on what to do. But no fears, I've stumbled around and figured out everything during those 85 hours of gameplay and I am going to pass the findings on to you.

If you have already been playing this game for more than 15 hours, you have likely stumbled across and/or already initiated this event. But if you have not, here is how to get started:

Head to the Onsen Mountain (north section of the map).
Talk to a the character by the name of Naughty located near the bus stop up the hill.
Accept the Onsen Egg Promise quest.
Complete Naughty's tutorial by interacting with your first hidden onsen egg.

If no cutscene is activated either:

A. You have already triggered the start of the event before or

B. It is after the event period has ended

The first time that the event is activated Naughty will take you through a cutscene and a quick tutorial where he has you interact with a near by egg in order to make sure you understand how the event works... now if you are anything like me you will interact with that egg, trigger the event success screen, and then still not know what to do to complete the quest.

The logistics

We are going to need to locate a character by the name of Naughty in the Onsen Mountain area.

When you click the map icon in the top left corner, you will see an area marked as the Onsen Mountain. Within the Onsen Mountain area you will see a yellow bus stop icon, head there, as Naughty can be found nearby.

To the left of that bus stop, you will see a wooden bridge. Walk up that bridge and you will see Naughty. Interact to talk with Naughty and this will trigger the opening cermony cutscene for the event.
