Gasp is this actually my first ever blog post? Yes, it so is, and it feels so good!
It’s been a long time coming to get to this point and I am so glad we are finally here.
So listen… this isn’t going to be your typical “Welcome to my Sims 2 blog!” kind of post. well mostly because that’s just not me. Just like Sims 2 I’m kind of chaotic, kind of sentimental, and fully random. I’m the simmer who builds a whole damn grocery store in the Sims 2 (yes, Whole Foods and all), spends a month researching, editing the video, prepping the webpage, finally hits publish… and then immediately spirals because one tiny mesh didn’t show up in-game and now I’m convinced the build is ruined and I should delete my entire channel.
Oops did I take you too fast there… in the famous words of TikTok “Ima hold your hand when I say this” Hi. Welcome. I’m Tia_Sunshine The Simmer and you’re in good hands.
I started this blog because I love The Sims 2—it’s cozy, nostalgic, a little wonky, and still full of magic even after all these years. But also? It’s kind of a wild ride. I wanted a chance to show that this old game can be just as fun and modern as the rest, and do it using the objects this old game already comes with. That means little to no cc for each build and so far, I’d say I’ve done a decent job at showing that, but don't hold your breath haha.
I realized recently that I’ve been putting so much pressure on everything I make—every video, every download, every piece of code added to this website—because I care. Like, a lot. I want it to work for you. But sims 2 is famously NOT perfect and neither am I.
The only thing I can control is staying true to my initial purpose which was to create a space other simmers love and do it with full on transparency… I want you to know exactly what you are downloading into your game and give you the tools and resources to modify, fix, and update it as you please. The Sims 2 is that girl, it’s going to do what it wants, when it wants and look one way for you and totally different for someone else. And honestly? That’s just part of the fun.
So this blog? It’s where we’re gonna keep it real. I’ll share builds, behind-the-scenes chaos, and probably way too many thoughts about how coding my own blog is coming along. And I’m going to keep you posted about it each step along the way.
I hope you’ll stick around, I’ll continue to uphold my value of testing my builds on clean installs and including CC lists in a way that actually makes sense, I’ll look out for you guys feedback and to any of my tech-challenged besties (I see you, I love you) don’t have to suffer.
